Nha Trang to Da Nang Train: Timetable, Sleepers & Tickets
Quick answer: Nha Trang and Da Nang are stops on Vietnam’s north–south railway. For a journey from the beach city to central Vietnam, compare northbound trains for your date, check whether arrival is the following day, and choose a seat or sleeping berth that suits the trip. Hoi An requires an onward road transfer from Da Nang.
Which stations should you search?
Use Nha Trang as your departure and Da Nang as your destination. The Vietnamese names Nha Trang and Đà Nẵng may appear in station lists. Select the railway station rather than an airport or an intercity bus stop when arranging a pickup. Show your driver the departure station written on the issued ticket.
Da Nang station serves the city; it is not in Hoi An. If you are staying in Hoi An, plan a separate taxi, car or shuttle transfer and confirm the pickup point with its provider.
How to read the timetable
Open the Nha Trang to Da Nang route page and search your intended travel date. Compare departure time, arrival time, travel duration and the arrival calendar date together. A late departure can arrive the next day; do not book your hotel or pickup using the departure date alone.
For a sightseeing trip, check which parts of the journey fall in daylight. The Hai Van Pass lies north of Da Nang, between Da Nang and Hue, so this journey ends before that section. Continue toward Hue on another leg if the pass is a priority.
Seat or sleeper: choose around your plans
A soft seat may suit a daytime journey if you are comfortable remaining seated for a long trip. For overnight travel, compare available soft sleepers and hard sleepers. Standard soft-sleeper layouts commonly have four berths; hard sleepers commonly have six. Read the specific carriage description before paying.
A berth is normally a place in a shared compartment. Booking one does not by itself reserve a private cabin. If travelling as a couple or family, check actual berth assignments rather than assuming that one booking guarantees the whole group is together.
What determines the ticket price?
Train, date, accommodation class and berth position can affect the fare. Compare the total for the same passenger group, including any displayed service charges. A guide price or route-page estimate is not confirmation that the requested berth is available.
Read the change and cancellation conditions for the selected product. Check the passenger names and document requirements before payment, and keep the final issued travel document available offline. Follow the seller’s ticket collection or boarding instructions.
Arrival in Da Nang and onward travel
Allow room for a delayed arrival when booking a transfer or another departure. For Hoi An, give the transfer company the train number, arrival date and your accommodation address, and check how it handles a late train. Do not assume a rail ticket includes that transfer.
If staying in Da Nang first, compare your hotel’s check-in time with the train’s arrival. Keep medicines, valuables, a light layer and anything needed on arrival in a small accessible bag.
